Course Past Approvals

The Australian Psychological Society (APS) for it's members since the first approvals in 1995 by the then director of training and standards Dr Alison Garton. The APS no longer approved any courses for PD other than it's own training courses ie, run by or on behalf of the APS, from October 2012 but has since changed their policy. These courses were previously approved until October 2012 for 45 Generalist credit hours as well as by the Clinical, Community, Health and Counselling Colleges in various recent years prior to 2012. These prior accreditations by the APS can be used as a guide for psychologists in self assessing CPD allocation in 2026, using 48 Face to Face hours as a guide plus 20 Extra-Curricular hours (plus) for CPD allocation in 2026.

The Psychologists Registration Board of NSW approved this course in 1995 for intern or conditionally registered psychologists in NSW for 20 credit hours. From 1996 the Psychology Board delegated credit hours allocation to a training psychologist's individual supervisor rather than the Psychology Board itself. Individual supervisors could then use the previous Board allocation of approved credit hours as a guide. The 20 hours were the maximum allocation allowed for a training course at that time. The course has 48 hours of Face to Face training in 2026 plus 20 hours (plus) of extra-curricular training for CPD allocation in 2026.

OT Australia previously approved the training for 30 points in category 6, but they no longer accredited any training courses for any training organisations in recent years post circa 2012.

The Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) approved the course for 48 CPD credit hours in 2013 and for many subsequent years until the AASW ceased assessing and appellating training courses also circa 2012.

In addition some of the previous Course Approvals included:

The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM).  Approved for 2017-2019 for PD points and MOPS as in 2011-2013 and 2014-2016. It is planned for reapplication to the ACRRM to be made in the 2026-2028 triennium.

The Australian College of Midwives (ACM) for 65 Credit hour points. A re-application is being considered for 2026.
